OK, so we were not on a ship – but we did cross the equator for the first time. Naval tradition describes that passengers of vessels crossing the equator for the first time are initiated into the court of King Neptune with a water baptism and by paying their respects. Our crossing was in the air and thankfully involved no water baptism but it was awesome to see the sun rise in the southern hemisphere as we approached Australia…
